Bioprocess Engineering for Wine, Beer and other Beverages

Dr. Panagiotis Tataridis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Wine, Vine & Beverage Sciences of the University of West Attica. He has a bachelor from the Department of Enology & Beverage Technology of the TEI of Athens, a Master-D.E.A. in Enology-Ampelology from the University of Burgundy (IUVV) and a Ph.D. from the Institut Nationale Polytechique of Toulouse (INP-ENSIACET).

He has more than 20 years of experience, both academic, as an enologist and as a Quality Manager/Food Safety consultant. He has published scientific papers in international scientific journals, participated in international congresses with presentations and posters, receiving 2 awards and in a number of research projects. He has also participated in 4 scientific books and a patent. He has been an expert in national and international comities of viti-vinicultural stakeholders (SEO, YpAAT, EDOAO, PANEPO, OIV, WIM) and in tasting competition (ENOAVE, SEZE). He has served as vice-president (2002-2008) and president (2008-2016) of the Pan-Hellenic Union of Registered Enologists.
He specializes in the science and technology of wine, beer and other beverages, in microbiology and fermentation biotechnology, microbial interactions, immobilization, in the influence of yeast and bacteria to the quality of wine, beer and other beverages, in sensory evaluation, bioprocess engineering and the utilization of by-products. He also has a large experience in wine, beer and other beverages legislation.
