  • the organization, the institutions of Greece & the European Union and the decision-making mechanism
  • the food and drink code
  • the Greek and EU legislation on beverages, water, wine products, beer and alcoholic beverages,
  • the obligations for packaging recycling
  • the legislation of the oenologist profession

COURSE CONTENT

  • Formulation and Implementation of Legislation
  • Controls and Control mechanisms
  • Introduction to Community Law – History Foundation and basic values ​​of the European Union, institutions
  • Community law. Sources of Community Law, formulation of Community Legislation and its effect on the legal order of the Member States
  • Regulation for the common organization of the wine market: Necessity of training, object and scope of applications. Producer organizations and interprofessional organizations
  • Appellations of origin, geographical indications and traditional indications of wines and spirits
  • Wine categories, e.g. Sparkling and carbonated wines, liqueur wines and flavored wines, etc.
  • Official methods of analysis of wines and beverages
  • Permitted Practices-Enrichment, Acidification and Acidification, Sulfite Use, Allergens, Organic Products
  • Labeling – presentation of wines and grape musts
  • Alcoholic beverages – Definition, characterization. Conditions of production and disposal for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Beer legislation – Brewing, definitions, jurisprudence, and terms of release for consumption
