Laboratory of Viticulture and Management of the Viticulture Sector

The Laboratory of Viticulture and Management of the Viticulture Sector (ΦΕΚ ΙΔΡΥΣΗΣ ΕΡΓΑΣΤΗΡΙΩΝ 515-Β-03.04.15) serves research and educational needs in the subjects:

  • climate change and effects on physiological processes and quality of grapes,
  • selection of genetic material,
  • soil management and vineyard establishment,
  • fertilization, irrigation and canopy management,
  • development and prospects of mechanized viticulture,
  • pest and disease management,
  • evaluation of new and old indigenous grape varieties in various terroir, g
  • enomic and transcriptomic analysis,
  • biotechnology of grapevine and other woody plants,
  • study of molecular interactions of grapevine – microorganisms,
  • molecular responses of grapevine to biotic – abiotic factors.

In addition, the laboratory serves research in the following subjects:

  • investigation of the Greek and international wine markets,
  • study of organizational management and business operations,
  • market research and marketing strategies, marketing and modern social media,
  • business competitiveness and business plan.
