The Department since its establishment has set as: 

 

MISSION 

  • the offer of high-quality education in the wider subject of Wine, Vine and Beverage Sciences, through undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies, taking into account the standards of the International Organization of Vine & Wine (OIV) and the USP of corresponding University Departments internationally 
  • the production of new knowledge and the contribution to the development of science, through the preparation of original research, both independently and in the context of national and international/European research collaborations 
  • the contribution to the regional and national development of production, the economy and society, through external actions and partnerships with public and private bodies 

 

VISION 

Continue to serve educational, research and wider social goals, adhering to the principles of excellence, scientific ethics, accountability, sustainable development, social justice, individual rights, respect for diversity and social cohesion, covering development and productive needs of the Greek economy and society. 

 

GOAL 

Upon completion of their studies, the graduates of the Department should have the necessary scientific and technological knowledge, abilities and skills, which will make them competent scientists to staff companies and organizations of the public and private business initiative and to play a leading role in the modern economic, social and political environment at national and international level.
