Evangelos Beris holds a Ph.D. in Viticulture, M.Sc. in Biology and WSET Advanced. Since 2014, he is teaching as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Wine, Vine & Beverage Sciences of the University of West Attica. Moreover, he is teaching in two MSc Programmes (MSc in Wine & Beer Science and MSc in Operational Management). His research topics include Vine’s pests & diseases, Vine’s biology & ecology, Ampelography, the effects of soil-climate-Topography on wine, Sensory analysis of wine etc. He is the coordinator (from the Greek side) of the Memorandum of cooperation between Uniwa and Geisenheim University, managing the common Projects “WinManTour” and “WOW” funded by DAAD. He is also the scientific supervisor (for the Greek side) of the project “Loess”, for the promotion of soil health, funded by Europe Horizon. Since 2013, he has been occupied as a Viticulture/Oenology/Winetourism consultant and since 2017 he has been consulting and collaborating with wineries in Santorini. Evangelos also judges at international wine competitions and gives presentations, lectures and masterclasses in several countries.
