Vassiliki (Bessy) Geka holds a B.A (summa cum laude) in English Language and Literature and an M.A. (summa cum laude) in Applied Linguistics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). She also holds a PhD (Hons with distinction) from the same university. During her studies, Vassiliki has been awarded prizes and scholarships by the State Foundation of Scholarships, the Department of Bequests of the University of Athens, and the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (SYLFF) based in Tokyo.

Vassiliki has been teaching for the University of Patras (Department of Tourism Management, School of Economics and Business) while she has also served as a Research Scholar for the Department of Social Work and the Department of Wine, Vine and Beverage Sciences (University of West Attica, UniWA). Currently, she is an adjunct lecturer for the Department of Wine, Vine and Beverage Sciences UniWA).

Moreover, Vassiliki is a trainer for the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Governance, while she has also been a Research Associate of the Research Centre for the English Language (RCeL) of NKUA for a number of years. She has also been working as an English instructor for Hellenic American since 2010, while in 2020 she was promoted to the position of the Deputy Director of the Centre for Applied Linguistics and Language Studies of the Institution. Further to the above, Vassiliki has been an adjunct lecturer for the Hellenic Police Academy (since 2015), the Hellenic Air Force NCA Academy (since 2021), and the Hellenic Air Force Academy (since 2023). Her academic interests involve Theoretical Linguistics, Construction Grammar (CxG), Cognitive Linguistics and Applied Linguistics.
